Christopher Sanderson in 2012 :: The Algarve

There is a temptation to reflect nostalgically on the past; following in Tennyson’s footsteps we regressed to the Isle of White, a step back in time among the rains of a full English summer. We stayed in a Jacobean manor, our hosts preserving much that was Jacobean. The highlight was not to find the poets words but instead to find a photographer’s museum, with posters and photographs of the IoW festivals in 1969 and 1970. On return from one of those years I walked barefoot and rebellious through the streets of Huddersfield.
